What Is Kuppam Green Granite?

Kuppam Green Granite is a South Indian granite with a grey-green base and flowing wavy veins. It is quarried in the Kuppam region of Andhra Pradesh and processed in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. Lighter lots from the same quarry belt are sold as Kuppam White Granite, and many dealers simply call both Kuppam granite. It belongs to our green granite range and is supplied as gangsaw slabs, cutter slabs and tiles.

Kuppam Green vs Kuppam White Granite

Both shades come from the same belt and have the same strength. Kuppam Green has a green-grey base with black specks. Kuppam White has a white to light grey base with soft grey-green veins. Both have the same wavy movement. Shade changes from lot to lot, so choose from photos of the actual lot instead of a sample picture. If you want a lighter stone, also compare it with our white granite collection.

Where Is Kuppam Green Granite Used?

The long, wavy veins look best on large floors, where the pattern runs from one slab to the next. That is why it is chosen for living rooms, halls, showrooms and hotel lobbies. It is also used for kitchen countertops, stairs and risers, wall cladding, tabletops and outdoor walkways.

For flooring and kitchen tops, 18 and 20 mm slabs are the usual choice. For stair treads and heavy-use areas, thicker slabs of 30 or 40 mm are stronger. For outdoor areas, a flamed, sandblasted or bush hammered finish gives better grip than a polished surface.

Finishes and Sizes

Kuppam Green Granite is available in polished, flamed, lapotra, honed, leather, sandblasted, bush hammered and antique finishes. Slabs come in 18, 20, 25, 30 and 40 mm thickness. We also cut custom sizes for steps, counters and project orders.

Kuppam Green Granite Price

The price depends on four things: slab size, thickness, finish and quantity. Gangsaw slabs cost more than cutter slabs because they are larger. Leather and flamed finishes cost more than polished. Bulk orders for dealers and projects are priced lower per square foot than small orders. Send your size, thickness and quantity through our stone inquiry form and we will reply with today’s rate.

What We Check Before Dispatch

Granite is a natural stone, so every lot is different. Before dispatch we measure each slab, check the thickness and look for cracks, patches and colour difference. We then share photos or a live video call of the slabs, so you see the exact lot you are buying. If a slab has a problem, you know before it is loaded, not after it reaches your site.

Things to Know Before Buying

  • Veins and shade vary between lots. Order the full quantity from one lot for a uniform floor.
  • Plan the laying direction before cutting, so the waves flow the same way across the room.
  • For kitchen countertops, seal the surface to protect it from oil and stains.
  • Keep a few extra pieces from the same lot for future repairs.
